Welcome to Our New Executive Director

This Season the Puppet Showplace Theatre is very pleased to welcome a new member of the staff, Executive Director, Kris Higgins. He brings nonprofit management experience to the Showplace, having recently managed a federally funded AmeriCorps national service program benefiting young children. Kris has also served on the executive board of directors of a nonprofit theater in North Carolina. With support from the wonderful staff, dedicated board, and enthusiastic volunteers, Kris looks forward to helping the Puppet Showplace Theatre grow and to continue to ensure excellence in puppetry for all audiences.

...And in Kris's own words : "After an extensive career as a freelance super hero, I have decided to hang up my cape and work for the benefit of puppet-kind. I will spend my time at PST fighting for the rights of puppets, and working to provide them with a higher quality of life. I truly believe that all puppets should be liberated from their manual oppressors. My favorite color is green, and I like long walks on the beach with my dog."

Congrats Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers

We are very happy to be welcoming recent UNIMA Citation Recipients Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers and their show "Everybody Loves Pirates".

The UNIMA Citation of Excellence is the highest recognition awarded in Puppetry at an International level. To recognize this achievement we have added extra performances on Friday November 10th at 3pm and 7pm. We know you'll love this show because Everybody Loves Pirates.

Added Performances

In an effort to expand our offerings and meet the needs of more audience members, we have begun experimenting with additional showtimes. With grant funding from the Brookline Community Foundation we have added 3pm shows on Friday November 10th and Wednesday November 15th and a 7pm shows on November 10th. If you attend one of these show times we would love to hear your feedback.

Happy Thanksgiving

For the Thanksgiving Holiday we have Nappy's Puppets presenting Father Goose Tales. This show has become a Holiday weekend tradition at the theater. Take advantage of the long weekend with your family and bring them to this very entertaining shadow puppetry show.

Winter Schedule Highlights

Winter is Approaching! As the temperature begins to drop and the days become shorter we are warm and cozy inside the Puppet Showplace.

Highlights for our winter include Holiday Fantasy by Spring Valley Puppets, The Gingerbread Boy by Pat's Puppets, Stories from Snowy Lands by Sparky's Puppets and Mid-Winter Magic by the Gerwick Puppets.

This will be the first time ever "Mid-Winter Magic" has been performed on our stage. You may have seen them at First Night Boston but we've got 'em first on December 30th at 1pm and 3pm.

Here Come The ClownsWorld Premiere Performance

Artist-In-Residence, Paul Vincent Davis, will be premeiring his new show titled "Here Come the Clowns!" the first weekend in January. Please join us for the Gala event to showcase the new show and applaud Paul for his spectacular career as a puppet performer.

"Here Come the Clowns!" is an original production comceptualized, constructed, and performed by Paul Vincent Davis. The show also showcases the skills of Bonnie Duncan as director and Alison Plante as composer. These three artists have created a show intended for Pre-school aged children which draws inspiration from the world of colorful clowns.

Thank You

Without the generous support of friends, donors and volunteers, this theatre could not continue bringing the wonder of puppetry to more than 24,000 guests each year.
