Creating Puppet Plays

Exercise your imagination with the magic of puppetry! We will explore a world of puppetry styles as we design and build colorful characters in many shapes and sizes. Together, we'll learn how to bring original stories and scenes to life on the puppet stage, and then put on a show for everyone to enjoy! A new theme will be introduced each week.

About the Instructor:

Puppeteer, educator, and children’s entertainer HONEY GOODENOUGH has taught puppetry to everyone from preschool students to medical professionals. As a teaching artist, she has worked with diverse student populations in greater Boston, New York City, and Texas. She has taught a wide variety of professional development courses for educators and aspiring puppeteers at Brooklyn College, the University of Utah, and City College CUNY. Her company, Good Hearted Entertainment, recently developed "Word Play," a literacy-based puppet show. Honey has performed with several nationally-touring puppetry companies, and she studied puppetry at the Eugene O’Neill National Puppetry Conference. She holds an MA in Educational Theater from New York University and a BA in Theater with a focus in Costume Crafts and Technology from the University of Texas, Austin.
