NEW! Puppet Improv Lab
Instructor: Sarah Nolen, Resident Artist
FOUR SESSIONS: October 18 - November 8
6:30 - 8:30 pm
Cure stage fright, smash writer's block, and get out of your head and into your hands with this NEW puppet improv class taught by veteran improviser and puppeteer Sarah Nolen. Fun, participatory group games, spontaneous story-telling exercises, and a crash course in puppet manipulation will get you moving and creating right away. Together, we'll acquire skills and learn idea-generating strategies for our ultimate mission: to create stellar, long-format scenes and zany solo performances with zero scripting or prior preparation. Along the way, we'll discover the outrageous possibilities of puppet and object theater, find new ways to generate and access characters, practice listening and collaborating with scene partners, and increase our overall bravery and self-confidence. A great class for puppetry fans, improvisers, and anyone looking to jumpstart their creativity.
Recommended for adults and teens. All experience levels welcome. Puppets will be provided by the instructor.
