NEW! Junk Music & Sound Experimentation

Instructor: Justin Lander, Modern Times Theater

ONE SESSION: Thursday May 24,
6:30 - 8:30 pm
COST: $30 / $25 members

Music is everywhere, if you know how to listen for it: right outside the window, coming out of our clothing, and available in the objects of everyday life. In this workshop, participants are guided through a series of listening exercises, rhythm games, and sound improvisations to develop the ear, as well as to gain experience in being part of an ensemble. Participants will then learn to make a variety of functioning musical instruments and noisemakers from common household items and garbage. For the accomplished musician as well as the novice, these explorations of the uses of non-traditional sound are accessible and fun.

Recommended for adults and teens. All experience levels welcome. Registration includes 1 free admission to "The Perils of Mr. Punch: Use it Up!" by Modern Times Theater, May 24-28.

Register online or call the Box Office at: 617-731-6400 x101
