Make your own peep-hole puppet show!
In this new production lab, participants will create a two-minute puppet show viewable by one audience member at a time. We'll explore the process of crafting stories for this unique theatrical setting focusing on sensory details, comedic opportunities, and the element of visual surprise. We'll look at early "peep boxes" that play with the illusion of depth perception, as well as more modern examples with intricate character design. We'll also cover basic sound editing and lighting techniques. Everyone will walk away with a tiny, totable world that can be performed in the most unlikely places.
All levels and abilities are welcome. A great interdisciplinary class for visual artists, storytellers, teachers, street performers, and anyone looking to bring a little imagination to somewhere in need!
