About the Artists...

Puppet Showplace is proud to welcome Crabgrass Puppet Theatre of Vermont during our Summer Puppet Adventures series this July and August. In 1982, Jamie Keithline and Bonny Hall founded this award winning puppet theatre and have been performing their shows all over the United States ever since.

Bonnie and Jamie met while studying at the University of Connecticut and after graduating toured the East Coast with the Pandemonium Puppet Company. The production of their first show, What a Clever Idea! set the pair off for what would be the first of many performances at regional, national and international puppetry festivals.

About the NEW show- "The Pirate, the Princess and the Pea"

A pirate and a princess are on a treasure hunt, searching for the same clues. The princess stays one step ahead of the pirate with every clue. But how can she get him out of the way long enough to dive for the treasure?

The pirate must prove himself not only by finding the treasure before the princess but also by convincing her that he is a real pirate!

We are convinced that "The Pirate, the Princess, and the Pea" will quickly become a new fan favorite of Puppet Showplace audiences.  Join us for this new adventure!

More about… “Anansi, Spiderman of Africa” by Crabgrass Puppet Theatre

Saturday, Sunday & Monday | January 15, 16 & 17 | Sat/Sun: 1PM & 3PM | Mon: 10:30AM & 1PM

About the show: A side-splitting selection of famous African folktales starring Anansi the Spider, whose appetite always overrules his intellect. Anansi loves to eat and hates to work, so he tries to trick other animals out of their food. But it’s not free lunch for Anansi—all of his schemes leave him hungrier than ever! These hilarious stories are brought to life by the award-winning Crabgrass Puppet Theatre, with a dynamic blend of traditional African design, infectious music and fabulous puppetry.

Performed with rod puppets. This show is recommended for ages 4 and up.

NEW 3/21 & 3/22 @ PST: Crabgrass Puppet Theatre's The Last Dragon on Earth!

The Puppet Showplace Theatre welcomes Crabgrass Puppet Theatre for two days (Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22) of performances of their show The Last Dragon on Earth.

Here's more about the show: For as long as anyone can remember, princes have fought dragons and rescued princesses. It's just the way things have always been done. But what happens when the princess doesn't need rescuing and the dragon is the very last one on Earth?

This modern fairy tale is a wonderful introduction to the concept of endangered species and is brought to life with Crabgrass Puppet Theatre's blend of beautiful puppets, fabulous scenery–full of caves and castles–and hysterically funny action.

Tickets are still available! Call the PST Box Office at (617) 731-6400 or purchase online.

The Last Dragon on Earth is recommended for ages 4 and up.

Please note this is a change in the schedule for the weekend from Jack and the Beanstalk by Spring Valley Puppets. If you've already purchased or reserved tickets for a Jack & the Beanstalk performance this weekend, a member of our Box Office staff will be in touch with you. Our apologies for any inconvenience, and we thank you for your understanding.

The Puppet Showplace Theatre looks forward to welcoming Spring Valley Puppets back to the stage on 5/2 and 5/3 for The Lazy Fox and Other Tales.
