Share the Transformative Power of Puppetry This Spring
Your gift ensures that children (and their grown-ups!) can continue to find joy, understanding, and connection here at Puppet Showplace.
Ticket sales cover about half of our costs, so it is your generosity that keeps this special place alive and thriving! Your gift made before June 30 will help us plan for the coming year and decide what programs we can afford to offer next fall, winter, and spring.
Each year we've gone deeper on our values, steering toward an even more vibrant future!
We've doubled the reach of our Affordable Access programs:
1 in 7 audience members used our Affordable Access programs last year. We want to welcome everyone, full stop — and your donations help support these programs to make that vision a reality!
5% of our attendees now use Card to Culture, our $3 ticket program for folks using WIC, SNAP, and other benefits. This particular program has tripled in size in a single year!
We've continued our monthly Pay-What-You-Can performances and continued to strengthen our Summer Outdoor Series, which provides free and by-donation performances across Greater Boston.
This year we launched scholarships for our summer Puppet Adventure Program, which provides a week-long day camp puppet experience!
We've expanded diverse storytelling and representation on our stage:
Audiences have been delighted by our expanded cultural celebrations — from Hanukkah to Lunar New Year, from Christmas to Diwali.
Last year, we piloted Multilingual Experiences in Spanish, French, Russian, and Mandarin.
And we've continued our expansion of our Creative Residency for Black Puppeteers from two months to six months in duration. Join us for our second annual in-person performance on June 13, 2026 so that the Greater Boston community can engage with the artists directly!
We're investing in artists and the future of puppetry:
New works created at Puppet Showplace's New Works Incubator and Creative Residency for Black Puppeteers have reached well over 50,000 audience members in at least 6 countries and 18 U.S. states! This year, we presented three world premieres from the New Works Incubator!
New shows that got their start at Puppet Showplace have gone on to be presented by ArtsEmerson, the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, the United States Marine Corps Band "The President's Own", and many more.

Your gift matters — but don't take our word for it!
““We would not be able to attend puppet shows as often (or possibly at all) without the assistance of Card to Culture. We are very appreciative of the program and I have utilized it to enrich my children’s lives. It has a huge positive impact on my family and my children’s relationship with the arts.””
““As a single parent working multiple jobs and paying high rent, the Pay-What-You-Can option made a huge difference to be able to attend this show AND invite others who might have not been able to attend otherwise — as well as invite others who might be able to pay more than the regular ticket price to help subsidize the show for others!””
