About the Class

Join physical theater and puppetry artist Veronica Barron on a lively exploration of puppetry, object theater performance, clowning technique, and comic creativity! Students will build their own silly scenes and sketches, using improvisation and composition techniques that can be applied to any style of performance. This is a great class for theater lovers who want to try puppetry, for puppeteers who want to hone their physicality, and for anyone who would like to practice the art of being both playful and present. Students will leave this class with short scenarios that they can continue to develop for puppet slams and beyond. This class will be held live over Zoom.

Recommended for adults and teens ages 13+

No prior puppetry or performance experience is required.
This class focuses on building the following skills: performance & physicality, puppet manipulation, and story development.
