About the Show

In this musical retelling of two classic “wolf-centered” fairytales, sometimes it's not always clear who the bad guy really is! In Little Red Riding Hood, a little girl brings a basket of cookies to her ailing grandmother, who lives on the other side of a forest. Along the way she meets a wolf who has other plans for the little girl, Granny, and the cookies! Then, in The Three Little Pigs, three pig brothers each build a house out of different materials and a hungry wolf comes to investigate.

With original music, witty dialogue, and all your favorite lines — including “not by the hair of my chinny chin chin” and “I’ll huff and I'll puff…” — these wolfy tales will have you howling in delight!

About the Artist

The Puppet Co. was founded by Christopher Piper and Allan Stevens in 1983. The theater has been a staple of the Washington D.C. area for over 40 years, bringing excellence to children's entertainment and American puppetry.

Elizabeth Dapo (Performer & Artistic Director) studied theater and art at Binghamton University, and earned her master’s degree in puppetry and devised theater from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. For over a decade Elizabeth has performed around the world, working for such companies as National Geographic Learning, PBS, The Tank NYC, and The Jim Henson Company at the Philadelphia Zoo. She began working with the Puppet Co. in 2014 as a performer, and as a teaching artist through the ArtAbility Program funded by the Trawick Foundation, working with children with autism. In 2020, Elizabeth became the Artistic Director of the Puppet Co. Most recently, you can see her on PBS as Albie in Albie's Elevator. Elizabeth looks forward to continuing to bring excellence in puppetry to Glen Echo Park.

Maggie Rocha (Performer) thought she would leave theater and performance behind her when she went to college. However, she stumbled into an audition room during her first month at American University, and the following year she declared a double major in communication studies and theater arts. Since then, she has been expanding her love of theater from onstage to behind-the-scenes, having had opportunities to act, stage manage, and work in lighting during her time at AU. Since graduating, Maggie has spent her past three summers working with Wildwood Summer Theatre as a performer and recently joined their board. She started working at the Puppet Co. in 2021 and hopes to continue its mission of spreading the joy of puppetry.

Special thanks to the Maryland State Arts Council and the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County for their continued support of the Puppet Co.
