About the Show
Mad, sad, scared, annoyed… How do you deal with terrible feelings?! This helmet-wearing clown thinks she knows the answers — but she needs your help! Together, you’ll crumple up paper, fend off cardboard sharks, draw pictures, sing songs, and more in Please Ship This Wet Gift — a very funny show about feeling terrible! Families will laugh together about feeling bad, enjoy lots of audience participation, and leave the theater with a few new ideas for what to do next time you feel crummy.
This show melds smarty-pants clown theater with expert puppetry to bring compassion and lightness to the heavy stuff. Parents have called Please Ship This Wet Gift “brilliant and hilarious” and “full of unabashed joy,” and we’ve heard from many parents who found that this show kept resonating for months afterward — as one parent said, “It gave us language and concepts that have supported us through some tricky emotional moments with our kiddo.” Don’t miss this exceptional show, coming to us from New York City!
After the Show: Meet the Puppets & More!

About the Artist
Marta and Hannah met on their afterschool softball team in Western MA. Their team never won a game, but they did do the bunny hop in the outfield.
Brave Bucket Co. makes playful, original puppet and/or clown theater for family and adult audiences. Their work has received support from the Jim Henson Foundation, and its members have worked in puppetry for over 10 years, doing fancy stuff like training at Sesame Street, performing with Mabu Mines, and teaching for The New Victory Theater. Brave Bucket Co. believes children deserve theater that speaks to their full range of emotions, and adults deserve theater that speaks to their inner child. To this end, the company uses a wide range of puppetry and performance styles to further our storytelling, illuminate emotions, and have a lot of fun.
Marta Mozelle MacRostie (Performer/Designer) is a puppeteer, clown and builder based in NYC. Her previous show for family audiences Help Save the Monkey! (with collaborator Liz Hara) premiered in the 2014 New York Children's Theater Festival, and was awarded a 2014 Jim Henson Foundation Family Grant. Marta has worked with Phantom Limb Co, Mabu Mines, and Wakka Wakka Productions, and has some fancy credits that include Sesame Street, and performances at the Kennedy Center, the New Victory Theater, and some really nice libraries.
Hannah Simms (Director) is a director and teacher based in Hartford, CT, where she is an ensemble member at HartBeat Ensemble. She is a graduate of the Dell'Arte School of Physical Theatre, the NTI Advanced Directing Semester at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, and the Ada Comstock Program at Smith College.
