Puppet Showplace Theater is Boston's favorite  place to learn about the exciting art of puppetry! We have a brand new workshop lead by The Dolly Wagglers. This brand new workshop is recommended for all ages, 7 & up.

About the workshop:

Crankies are a beautiful and time-honored form of storytelling using crank mechanisms to create a scrolling roll of pictures. In this workshop, Participants will learn about the myriad uses of crankies, from ancient story scrolls to contemporary street performances. We'll cover the different types of artwork, story content, performance styles, and crank mechanisms used to creating scrolling pictures. See three different cranky shows performed by internationally-touring crankie artist Lindsay McCaw, then create your own simple cranky using materials provided. Everyone will have the opportunity to perform for each other and share ideas.

Register online or call the Box Office at: 617-731-6400 x101. We look forward to seeing you there!
